COACHING
Coaching is now widely accepted as being one of the most valuable forms of leadership development, supporting real changes in practice. In our view, coaching is at its most effective when it explicitly integrates personal growth with professional impact. What do I need to develop in myself to succeed in my new role? How am I unwittingly stopping myself from having the impact I want to have? What assumptions and habits do I need to leave behind to move on? How can I build the courage to live my values? Do I really know what it’s like to be on the receiving end of me? These are the kinds of questions that we typically address, enabling you to lead yourself as well as you lead others.
A coaching programme
This work deserves times. So, after initial chemistry conversations to find the best coach for you, we usually agree a series of up to six meetings over a 9-12 month term. The first session clarifies your agenda, and identifies important outcomes, indicators and first steps. Each subsequent conversation will then review and build on achievements, explore options and learn what works for you so that you see concrete progress. Alongside these confidential meetings, we might also broaden our perspective and understanding by:
Offering a 360 feedback review
Accompanying you to important meetings and offering real-time feedback for immediate use
Suggesting a relevant personality or style inventory
Our ambition is to work with you as trusted thinking partners who are committed to your success.
Our coaches
All our talented and experienced coaches are professionally accredited and bring a diversity of style and experience to their work. As we have particular experience and expertise in healthcare leadership coaching, Living Potential is delighted to host the NHS Leadership Academy’s previous Executive Coaching Register, a community of 40 of the country’s most able coaches.
Coach training
Living Potential also offer coach training, as illustrated by this short film, created to encourage medical education supervisors to integrate coaching questions into their work with junior doctors:
“My huge thanks for this and for all of our work together over the past couple of years. Your input has been transformative both personally and professionally and I am most grateful. It’s also been hugely enjoyable.”
