FAQs

Please can you advise how many facilitators may be nominated by each organisation?

A minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3.

How do I nominate colleagues to take part?

Please respond to this email with nominations from your organisation. We require their name and email address. If you are able, please provide a second email address in case we encounter the NHS firewall.

What happens after I have nominated my facilitator colleagues?

We will contact facilitators and ask them to complete a short application form to ensure they meet the facilitator criteria.  The applications will be shortlisted and we will then be in contact with individuals to confirm places on the programme.

If I am successful, do I need to do anything to enroll?

We have received a large volume of interest for this programme. If you are offered a place, please enroll/ confirm your place by responding to the brief survey contained in the offer email. Your place will only be confirmed once you enroll via the survey.

If I am successful, do I need to do anything to prepare?

No, there is no pre-module work to complete. However, the online learning platform will be referenced throughout the modules and the PowerPoint slides will be uploaded there, so it would be a good idea to bookmark this page on your computer as preparation for your first module, and to make sure the module dates are saved in your diary.

Is there a cost?

This offer is fully funded for NHS employees.

Please can I have more information about the contents of the programme?

The programme equips facilitators to deliver a three module programme within their organisation covering:

  • Leaders’ personal wellbeing, its importance for wider staff wellbeing and how we can take best care of our impact under pressure

  • Leading for staff wellbeing, including the three characteristics that staff need to experience for workplace wellbeing and the leadership practices that create these characteristics

  • Leading for team wellbeing, including how to discuss and take practical collective action for sustainable wellbeing

The programme:

  1. combines looking after yourself as a leader with your leadership responsibility for looking after the workforce

  2. reframes effective leadership as creating wellbeing and develops confidence in the leadership approaches that achieve this

  3. is preventative not only reparative

  4. sees staff as part of the wider population

  5. emphasises how leading for wellbeing is critical in health and care given the direct link between carer wellbeing and patient outcomes.

We envisage that this programme is part of a social movement to create culture change across the NHS so that all leaders deliberately care for their own and their staff’s wellbeing as a matter of course.

Is it possible to attend some modules of (e.g.) cohort 1 and then others for  (e.g.) cohort  2?

Due to the nature of the programme, this won’t be possible.

What is the audience of the training?

Colleagues who are experienced facilitators (from any clinical or non-clincal background) who are:

  • ideally trained in coaching

  • have expertise in leadership development, Organisational Development and/or Health and Wellbeing

  • are confident in facilitating online development programmes

What is the commitment of the facilitators after completion?

We ask each organisation to deliver at least one cohort of the programme locally within three months of completion of the train the trainer programme and a further two cohorts within six months of the first.

How long is the course?

Specific dates can be found on the flyer -  the course spans over c. 2 months with a couple of months of optional (but encouraged) communities of practice.

Do I need to pick a cohort?

Yes, an application form will be sent directly out to all nominees in which they will be asked to select a first and second cohort preference.

Can we reserve places prior to confirming organisational commitment?

Unfortunately, we are not able to reserve spaces on the programme.  We expect the programme to be oversubscribed and will run a waiting list.

Can you let me know if other people from my organisation have expressed interest?

Yes. If we have received more than one expression of interest from different colleagues in the same organisation we will make sure all colleagues are informed.

How are you allocating the places?

Once we have a shortlist we will allocate local places on the basis of geographical spread and the number of eligible participants per organisation- up to 3 and a minimum of 2 per Trust.

How many places are available in each cohort?

To make sure participants receive the best opportunity to learn, places are limited to 8 per cohort.

What is the number of places available to us on the CoP live event?

There’s no upper limit to the communities of practice, anyone from the programme from any cohort is welcome.

Can places be accessed by non-NHS partners that meet the facilitator requirements?

Unfortunately, at the current time funding is only available to NHS employees. We hope to be able to address this in the future, please email us with your contact information and we will keep it on file.

Does accreditation have an expiry date?

No, CPD accreditation does not expire.

How long will I have access to the Learning Platform?

Your access to the Learning Platform will not expire so you’re able to refresh your learning whenever you want.
